Pocket Map (formerly Pocket Cartographer) is a route-planning puzzle for all ages, made by PATCELL SOFTWARE COMPANY LIMITED (“Patcell”). This policy describes what version 1.2 and later do with information. It applies to Pocket Map only; other Patcell apps have their own policies. Version 1.1 on iPhone and iPad offered optional email and platform saving; see “Earlier version 1.1” below.
Summary
Pocket Map has no accounts and no sign-in; you play offline and progress is kept on your device. The game never asks for a name, email address, age, photo or location. Patcell does not sell personal information and does not use analytics or tracking of its own. The free version shows non-personalized Google AdMob ads suitable for all ages, as described below. An optional one-time purchase, Full game, unlocks more maps and removes these ads.
Data on your device
To work, the game saves on your device: settings (language, music, sound effects, haptics, large-screen layout), tutorial completion, campaign scores and stars, Endless runs and records, unfinished routes, the times recent ads were shown (to limit how often ads appear) and whether you own the full game. Gameplay records can include routes, map identifiers, scores and timestamps. This information stays on your device; Patcell cannot access it.
Settings → Reset progress clears your game progress; it does not clear every setting or the ad-frequency history. Uninstalling the game or clearing its app data removes everything. Your device's own backup service may keep or restore app data according to your Apple or Google backup settings.
Advertising and privacy choices
The free version uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). A full-screen ad may appear after a finished round, never while you draw a route and never when the app opens: only from campaign map 4 onward and in Endless, none in the first 3 counted rounds, then at most once every 2 rounds and at least 3 minutes apart. If no ad is available, the game continues normally. Development and test builds use Google's sample ads.
Every ad request asks for non-personalized ads, is tagged for child-directed treatment and for users under the age of consent, and is limited to a General (G) content rating. The game does not ask for Apple's tracking permission and does not use the IDFA; the Android app removes the Advertising ID permission and the optional AdServices identifier, Topics and Attribution permissions. Google's SDK may still process network information such as IP address (and approximate location derived from it), app and device information, ad views and interactions, and diagnostic data to deliver and measure ads, maintain the service and prevent fraud. Where Google's consent service requires it, a consent message may appear. An ad may open an advertiser's service if you choose to interact with it; that service's policy then applies. In-app purchase: Full game
Pocket Map offers one optional, one-time purchase, Full game: 30 more maps across Forest, Highlands and Marsh, full Endless mode and no ads. There is no subscription. Payment is processed by the App Store (Apple) on iPhone and iPad, or by Google Play (Google) on Android; Patcell never receives your payment details, Apple ID or Google account details. The app checks the store's purchase record on your device to unlock the full game; Patcell has no purchase server. Restore it in Settings → Restore purchases.
Children and permissions
The game is suitable for all ages. It does not request access to contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location, and it does not ask for a name or date of birth. Because there are no accounts, Patcell holds no profile of any player. A parent or guardian may contact Patcell about a child's privacy without sending unnecessary identifying information.
Earlier version 1.1 (iPhone and iPad)
Version 1.1 offered optional email saving through Google Firebase Authentication and Patcell's Firebase/Google Cloud progress sync, and optional Apple Game Center/iCloud saving. Version 1.2 and later no longer offer these services. If you created a Pocket Map email account in version 1.1, you can delete it and its cloud save on the Pocket Map account-deletion page, or contact contact@patcell.com. Do not send your password or a verification code by email. An Apple iCloud save is managed in your Apple account settings. Firebase and other providers keep their own operational and security information under their policies.
Future versions
If a later version changes how data is processed, we will update this page, the date above and the store privacy disclosures before that version is released.
Contact and your choices
Questions about privacy: contact@patcell.com. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you choose to send and use it only to answer you and handle your request. Please do not send passwords, login codes, payment details or unnecessary information about children. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including contacting a data-protection authority.
Service providers and this website
Google provides AdMob and UMP under its own terms and privacy policy. Apple processes App Store payments and Google processes Google Play payments under their own terms (Apple's privacy policy). When you visit this page, Patcell's website delivery and security provider, Cloudflare, processes request information such as IP address and browser information. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
